C.S. Lewis was brilliant in his book – The Screwtape Letters. The book outlines a conversation between two demons writing back and forth on how to handle the faith of a new Christian.
One of the best lines in the book is this…
….our cause (Satan’s) is never more in danger then when a human, no longer desiring, but still intending, to do our enemies will, looks round upon the universe from which every trace of Him (God) seems to have vanished, and asks why he has been forsaken, and yet still obeys. – Uncle Screwtape
Have you had that moment? That moment when you look around and it seems as if God is a million miles away? Most of us have.
But that’s the thing about being faithful; it takes faith. Sometimes we fail, yet His mercies are new every morning.
– Lord may we remain faithful even when we might not even see a trace of You.
That book really opened my eyes. Its like insight to the underworld.
Yeah its a very thought provoking and sobering book.
